OPPO has officially unveiled the OPPO Reno16 Series 5G, the latest members of the company’s Reno series. It introduces significant hardware upgrades and is launched alongside the new OPPO Bubble.
OPPO Reno16 Series 5G – China Launch
The OPPO Reno16 Series 5G is headlined by the OPPO Reno16 Pro 5G and joined by the Reno16 5G. The two share some specs like a MediaTek chipset, a 200MP main snapper with gimbal stabilization, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and support for 80W SuperVOOC charging.
The OPPO Reno16 Pro 5G is larger of the two with a 6.78-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED panel. Around the back, a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens rounds out the triple rear camera. It is also powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9500s, which is a big leap from the Dimensity 8450 of the Reno15 Pro 5G.
The Pro device also offers 50W AIRVOOC charging to top up the 7000mAh battery, up to 16GB LPDDR5X, and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage.
Its vanilla counterpart, on the other hand, has a smaller 6.32-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED panel. Under the hood, it has a Dimensity 8550 Super, coupled with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and surprisingly up to 1TB UFS 3.1 storage.
It also has a smaller 6700mAh cell and doesn’t have AIRVOOC charging. The OPPO Reno16 Series 5G is carries over the same IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K rating as its predecessors.
The duo also introduces the Natural Tone Engine, designed to enhance clarity and color vibrancy in portrait photography. There’s also the Live Photo Sticker feature.
OPPO Bubble
Meanwhile, the OPPO Bubble is a selfie screen that is 7mm thick and weighs 27.5g. It supports remote shooting from up to 10m away and connects via a magnetic design. Additionally, it can be paired with personalized protective cases.

The OPPO Reno16 Series 5G is now available in three colors each – Midnight Black, Dream Blue, and Heartbeat for the Reno16 Pro 5G and Midnight Black, Starry Night, and Galaxy Purple for the OPPO Reno16 5G.
