Qualcomm has just unveiled the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 at its Snapdragon India event. The duo is built on the 4nm process for 5G mid-range smartphones.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 5
The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset features 4 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores with a peak clock speed of up to 2.6GHz. This is said to deliver 20% faster app launches and also includes better GPU performance by 21% over Snapdragon 6 Gen 4.
Additionally, the new chip supports up to 200MP cameras and has features like Night Vision and 100x AI Zoom. It also handles displays at up to FHD+ resolution with 144Hz refresh rates.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 also handles up to 16GB LPDDR5 or LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
As for gaming, it includes features like Game Super Resolution and Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 also introduces higher-end connectivity, namely Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.0.
The new Snapdragon 6 chipset also has a peak wireless speed of up to 5.8Gbps.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 5
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, on the other hand, can be used for entry-level and budget mid-range smartphones. It features 2 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores running at up to 2.4GHz. This is said to deliver up to a 77% GPU improvement, 43% faster app launches, and 25% lower screen lag.
Speaking of screens, the chipset supports FHD+ displays at up to 144Hz or 120Hz HD+ panels.
Qualcomm boasts 90 FPS gaming, which is a first for the Snapdragon 4-series. Other features of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 include:
- Wi-Fi 5
- Bluetooth 5.1
- Peak wireless speeds of up to 2.8Gbps
- LPDDR4X RAM
- UFS 3.1 storage

Qualcomm revealed at its launch that devices powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 will be launched in the second half of 2026. This includes devices from realme, OPPO, Redmi, and vivo.
