Xiaomi has unveiled the Xiaomi Tag, officially joining the smart tracking market. However, unlike other tags available today, the Chinese company’s Tag is designed to work seamlessly with both Apple and Google ecosystems.
Xiaomi Tag
The Xiaomi Tag has a minimalist white plastic build with a metallic ring around and the Xiaomi logo. It is 7.2mm thick and weighs around 10g, making it still easy to slip into your wallet or a bag.

The tech inside features Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC for connectivity and is powered by a CR2032 coin-cell battery. Xiaomi claims that it can easily last a year before needing replacement. Additionally, it has a built-in buzzer that allows you to find the Tag with an audio cue from your phone.
The Tag also has “Left Behind” alerts, letting you know if you’ve walked away from an object with a tag. Additionally, there’s Lost Mode with contact details so others can help you return a missing item. It does so using pop-ups when discovered on another network phone.

Xiaomi’s take on the smart tracking tag is rated at IP67 for water and dust resistance. More uniquely, it is built with cross-platform tracking via Apple Find My and Google Find Hub, allowing you to use it regardless of whether you’re an Android or iOS user.
Pricing and Availability
The Xiaomi Tag was unveiled in Malaysia in a lone white colorway. A single unit is priced at MYR 79 (around PHP 1,200), while a pack of four is offered at MYR 299 (around PHP 4,400).

We’ve received word that it will also be unveiled in the Philippines after its global launch on February 28. So we’ll just have to wait for the official pricing and availability.

That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
