The RAMaggedon, aka the RAM and SSD shortage due to the AI boom, isn’t showing any kind of slowdown based on the current market trend and industry research firm analysis. These new prices are expected to last quite a while, so let’s see what we could come up with for a Php 55,000 budget. It’s already Php 5,000 more than our usual Php 50,000 gaming pc build guide to give leeway for the increased prices.

Php 55k Gaming PC Parts Selection Breakdown
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X CPU
The AMD Ryzen 5 9600X is a great budget CPU with its 6-core, 12-thread configuration. For only a Php 500 premium over the AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, you’re getting faster speeds at a lower TDP from 105W to only a 65W package. It also comes with about a 10% better single-core and ~4% better multi-core performance over its predecessor.
Cooler: Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refined SE aRGB Air Cooler

There’s no stock cooler included in the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X since it has the X in its name. We chose a very cheap cooler for the sake of having one, but the Thermalright Assassin X 120 Refind SE is one of the best value coolers on the market. This allows us to allocate more budget into the core components, mainly the CPU, RAM, and the GPU. Plus, when you have the budget to upgrade to a dual-heatsink tower or an AIO, it’s an easy upgrade to make in the near future.
Motherboard: ASUS Prime B650M-K

The ASUS Prime B650M-K is a feature-packed motherboard for its price. It already sports a PCIe Gen 5 connectivity ideal for our GPU of choice, as well as leaving upgrade potential for Gen 5 NVMe SSDs. It has two M.2 ports, which you could easily populate once SSD prices get lower.
Memory: Lexar Thor Black 16GB(8GBx2) DDR5-6000MHz CL38

Choosing the RAM for this build was a heated internal debate, as the Php 50,000 budget can only now afford an 8GB stick. You could do away with an 8GB stick for now and upgrade at a later part; however, this is assuming that the prices will subside in a year or so. That said, limiting the build to an 8GB RAM limits the whole PC’s usability – productivity, especially on apps that rely on memory, such as video editing, will quickly impair your experience despite having an overall capable build. Hen,ce our decision to increase the budget by Php 5,000. The Lexar Thor Black 16GB(8GBx2) DDR5-6000MHz kit is the cheapest 16GB we could find.
Storage: MSI Spatium M450 500GB SSD

The MSI Spatium M450 500GB is the cheapest 500GB/512GB NVMe SSD that we could find. While it’s a PCIe Gen4 SSD, its speed is more comparable to Gen3 drives. That said, it should be more than enough for most users. This is one of the compromises we had to make to fit the Php 55,000 Gaming PC Build Guide budget. Getting a 1TB SSD would incur an additional Php 5,000 investment that would make the build be priced at Php 60,000. That’s why we opted to invest the Php 5,000 budget increase towards the RAM instead, as having an additional 8GB memory would provide more benefits and better quality of life than an additional 500GB of storage. Besides, there are still HDDs, which are cheaper if you need more storage later on.
GPU: COLORFUL iGame RTX 5050 ULTRA WHITE

GPU prices are expected to rise alongside RAM and SSDs as GPUs have VRAM. In our recent 8GB and 16GB VRAM test using the COLORFUL RTX 5060 Ti NB EX GPUs, an 8GB VRAM buffer is more than enough, even at 1440p resolution. The COLORFUL iGame RTX 5050 Ultra W DUO OC is a decent GPU that can play any title at high settings when paired with the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X. If you’re gaming at 1440p, you will likely utilize
PSU: Sama G650 650W 80+ GOLD PSU White

Sama is relatively new in the Philippine market, and the brand entered with surprisingly competitive pricing, rivaling staple PSU and Case brands such as DeepCool and FSP. The Sama G650 650W 80+ GOLD PSU white is the cheapest 80+ GOLD PSU we’ve seen so far. As we’ve said in our previous Gaming PC Build Guides, we never compromise on the build quality of your power supply, hence our decision to still go with a GOLD-rated PSU.
Case: Tecware Neo M2 Mesh

PC Chassis selection in a build is almost always subjective. That said, we do still have some key factors to use as a guideline, such as size, radiator support, fan support, build quality, and, of course, price. Upgradability is one of the strengths in this gaming pc buil,d and the case to house possible upgrades in cooler, GPU, and fan support in the future is the Tecware Forge S. Not only does it looks premium for its Php 3,120 price tag, but it also a bang for your back as it includes three 120mm RGB fans and comes in white too. A great alternative for the Tecware Forge S would be cases from another local brand, Rakk should you want to maximize the value of your budget.
