POCO opens the new year with the introduction of the POCO M8 series in the Philippines. The series includes the POCO M8 Pro 5G and M8 5G, and are the latest members of the company’s mid-range M series.

The POCO M8 series is designed for those looking for an everyday companion for entertainment and daily use. The duo features AMOLED panels, a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main camera, a Snapdragon chip, and large silicon-carbon batteries with reverse charging support.

The POCO M8 Pro 5G is the larger of the two, being built around a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, with a 32MP front snapper housed in a punch hole. The device supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, and the panel is TÜV Rheinland-certified. Moreover, the panel has 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming and DC dimming.

The Pro device is equipped with dual 115F speakers with 3D sound and enhanced by Dual Gold Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos.

Under the hood, it has a 7s Gen 4 chipset coupled with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage.

The Pro variant of the POCO M8 series boasts a pretty impressive 6500mAh battery with support for 100W HyperCharge and 22.5 reverse charging. Other features include Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection, an SGS Premium Performance Certification, Wet Touch Technology 2.0, and an IP66, IP68, and IP69K rating.

Meanwhile, the POCO M8 5G features a 6.77-inch FHD+ Flow AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, with a toned-down 20MP front selfie lens. The device has a 7.35mm profile and a lightweight 178g body.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 with 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. It also has a smaller 5520mAh battery and supports a slower 45W Turbo Charge.

The base variant of the POCO M8 series has also passed the SGS Comprehensive Shock and Drop-resistance test and has an IP66 rating and Wet Touch technology 2.0.
