Huawei recently introduced the HUAWEI Mate 80 series which is generally powered by the Kirin 9030 series chipset, which comes in a base and a Pro variant.
That said, the company didn’t share what differentiate the two chips. That’s until now, where Weibo users shared screenshots of the two hardware.
Kirin 9030 and 9030 Pro Key Differences
The latest Kirin chipsets are built on a 9-core CPU architecture with ARMv8 CPU cores and a Maleoon 935 GPU.
The Pro version stands out with its 14 threads and a 2+4+8 core configuration. The two prime cores are clocked at 2.75GHz, while the 4 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores run at 2.27GHz and 1.72GHz, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Kirin 9030 looks to have a 2+4+6 core configuration, with all these cores running identically to the Kirin 9030 Pro.
What wasn’t revealed by the screenshot though was the process these chipsets were fabricated on. Although, rumors claim that it uses the SMIC N+3 node based on the 6nm.
