OpenAI officially announced the launch of ChatGPT Atlas, a new web browser that integrates its powerful AI model. The company presents Atlas as a “super-assistant” that helps users delegate complex online tasks.

The browser’s core function is to allow ChatGPT to follow the user anywhere online, understanding context and completing tasks in the same window without the need for manual copying or pasting.
Moreover, it features built-in conversation memory and an optional Browser Memories feature, enabling the AI to retain context from visited sites to offer personalized suggestions and improve response relevance. Don’t worry, users maintain full control over the AI’s visibility and memory settings.

The most powerful feature is the enhanced Agent Mode (in preview for Plus, Pro, and Business subscribers). This feature enables ChatGPT to perform multi-step tasks actively, such as researching, automating tasks, analyzing information, and executing workflows like ordering groceries or booking appointments by interacting directly with web elements.
ChatGPT Atlas is available on macOS for all user tiers. The company confirmed that experiences for Windows, iOS, and Android devices are slated for release soon.
