realme has just unveiled the realme GT 8 series in China, with the realme GT 8 Pro leading the charge. The Pro version, like the base version, is the first to feature the Ricoh GR camera system, but the Pro version boasts a unique modular camera island.

realme GT 8 Pro
The realme GT 8 Pro features a 50MP Ricoh GR anti-glare main sensor with a 7P high-lens array and five layers of ultra-low-reflection coating.

The device also has an integrated Ricoh GR mode, recreating the iconic 28mm and 40mm focal lengths of the brand. Moreover, the realme GT 8 Pro has a Quick Focus Mode with an immersive viewfinder mode.
Joining the Ricoh main camera is a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 lens for telephoto shots and a 50MP ultrawide snapper.

The trio is housed in a camera module with an interchangeable camera plate secured by two Torx screws. This means you can switch out the camera module among the three offerings – square, circle, and a robot-looking one. realme has also shared the 3MF model so you can design and print your own custom module.
The realme GT 8 Pro supports video recording of up to 8K at 30fps, and it can also handle 4K video at 120fps. It features a Super QPD autofocus, dual slope gain (DSG), and a progressive HDR to aid in focusing speed and dynamic range.
realme flexes its recent partnership with Ricoh by co-developing an algorithm engine that helps avoid excessive processing. It, instead, preserves texture, shadow detail, and realism. The device also offers five GR-inspired film-tones like Standard, Positive, Negative, and High-Contrast B&W modes.
The realme GT 8 Pro is built around a 6.79-inch QHD+ 144Hz AMOLED panel, which houses the 32MP front snapper and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
Under the hood, it is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Along with the flagship Qualcomm chip is a custom R1 chip for better AI and imaging tasks. It draws juice from a 7000mAh cell with support for 120W Super Flash Charging technology and 50W wireless flash charging.
realme has also committed support for up to 4 major Android updates and up to 5 years of security patches.
