Xiaomi has just confirmed that it will introduce the Xiaomi 17 series, rather than the expected Xiaomi 16 series.
Xiaomi 17 Series – Confirmed
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing announced and confirmed this in a post on his Weibo. Moreover, he shared that the upcoming series will be comprised of the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, and Xiaomi 16 Pro Max.

He claims that the upcoming series will be “the strongest imaging flagship in Xiaomi’s history”.
Lu openly admitted that the company will “face the iPhone head-on in the same generation and at the same level”, explaining the skip to 17 as well as the new naming convention for its devices.

However, this comes following the criticism over the HyperOS 3 update, which resembled iOS 26. This includes the app icons, animations, and Face ID styling.
The Xiaomi 17 series is expected to debut the Snapdragon 8 Elite 5, which is expected to debut later this month.

Xiaomi has yet to confirm the exact launch date of its next-generation flagship devices, though, as of writing this.
Ram found his love and appreciation for writing in 2015 having started in the gaming and esports sphere for GG Network. He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
