The September Apple Event is now done, and this means the latest iPhone 17 series is now official, along with the Apple AirPods 3, Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch SE 3, and Apple Watch Ultra 3.
The iPhone 17 series includes the iPhone 17, the all-new iPhone Air, and the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. The last of the bunch remains the top-specced members of the series, and it comes with big upgrades to cameras and more.
iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max
At the center of the iPhone 17 Pro series upgrade is the design with the aluminum unibody that also houses the three 48MP Fusion Cameras (main, ultrawide, and up to 8x optical zoom telephoto). In addition, on the front is the new 18MP Center Stage front camera.

Yes, you read that right, it’s back to aluminum from the previous Titanium body, which is quite a curious change to the Pro series.

As members of the Pro series, the duo carries over support for Dolby Vision HDR, 4K120, ProRes Log, and ACES. In addition, the two phones support ProRes RAW and Genlock. The latter helps with video synchronization for professional-looking transitions.
The Pro series is also powered by the new 3nm A19 Pro and fitted with a new thermal system that features a vapor chamber with deionized water. The chip features a 6-core CPU, 6-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It is also coupled with the new N1 wireless networking chip that enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.

On the front are either 6.3-inch or 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR displays with ProMotion and protected by Ceramic Shield 2. The back panel is also kept safe with Ceramic Shield.

The Pro series runs on iOS 26 out of the box, which will bring the new Liquid Glass design, new Apple Intelligence capabilities, and more.
