RØDE has launched the RØDE LPA1, a professional low-profile studio arm built for creators who record on camera and want the microphone close without the hardware sitting in the shot. The arm is available now in black for US$139, with a white version arriving later.
What the RØDE LPA1 Brings to On-Camera Setups
Most studio arms arc over a desk and swing into frame the moment a camera starts rolling. The LPA1 takes the other route. It extends horizontally and sits below a camera’s usual line of sight, so the microphone stays in position while the arm stays out of the picture. RØDE says the design suits video podcasts, live streaming and on-camera content, where the equipment should support the creator instead of competing for attention.
The arm still moves when it has to. RØDE rates the LPA1 for smooth, silent repositioning with 360-degree articulation and an integrated ball-head mount, so a host can nudge the microphone mid-session without the movement landing on the recording.
RØDE is aiming the arm at setups where the desk doubles as the studio: single-host rooms, two-person interview shots and rented spaces where drilling into furniture is not an option. The included clamp handles desks up to 70mm thick, so the LPA1 can move between tables without permanent fixtures.
Load Capacity, Reach and Mounting
The LPA1 carries up to 2kg, which RØDE says is the highest capacity of any studio arm it has built. That covers broadcast dynamic microphones such as the PodMic, PodMic USB, Procaster and Broadcaster, plus large-diaphragm condensers in the NT1 range. Construction is all-metal.
Horizontal reach runs to 750mm from the clamp, and the arm adjusts up to 90 degrees upward and 60 degrees downward. An included clamp fits desks up to 70mm thick, with no drilling needed. Thread compatibility covers 1/4-inch, 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch mounts for microphones, cameras and lights. Four cable clips route XLR or USB runs along the length of the arm, which keeps the desk tidy and the cables out of the frame.
Price and Availability
The arm is designed and built at RØDE’s Sydney headquarters, and it joins a wider studio refresh that also covers the DS3 desktop arm, the PodMic Flag branding tool and the RØDECaster Studio app.
RØDE lists the LPA1 at US$139 in black, available now and shipping worldwide through its retail network. A white edition follows. The arm first appeared at NAB 2026 in April, where RØDE also showed the DS3 desktop studio arm, RØDELink II and RØDECaster Studio.
Philippine pricing and availability have not been announced, so local creators will need to watch RØDE’s regional dealers or plan for freight and duties if they order abroad.
