REDMAGIC Astra 2: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and RedCore R4

The REDMAGIC Astra 2 packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 allows for sustained mobile gaming and multitasking with faster rendering and better power efficiency under load. The RedCore R4 gaming chip works alongside it, enabling customizable in-game effects, Qualcomm-driven 2K super-resolution, and power management tuned for longer sessions.

REDMAGIC’s Energy Cube 3.0 system handles resource allocation in real time, distributing CPU, GPU, memory, cooling, and touch response based on what’s happening on screen to achieve steadier frame rates and quicker touch response, with lower power draw and heat output over long play sessions.

185Hz OLED Display With 2.4K Resolution

The REDMAGIC Astra 2’s 2.4K OLED panel runs at 2,400 x 1,504 pixels and uses a Full Black Integrated Polarizer for deeper blacks and lower power consumption. Brightness reaches up to 1,600 nits at peak and 1,100 nits for typical use, while the 185Hz refresh rate is built for fast-paced titles.

Touch input runs through a Synaptics S3930 system, with a 300Hz average sampling rate that can spike to 2,000Hz for quick taps. The 9.06-inch screen has a 90.1% screen-to-body ratio with 4.9mm bezels, and it carries SGS certification for low blue light output.

AquaCore Cooling System 2.0

REDMAGIC Astra 2 is the first tablet with liquid cooling built in. The AquaCore Cooling System 2.0 combines flowing liquid coolant, Liquid Metal 3.0, and a large vapor chamber, using micron-level flow channels and piezoelectric ceramic micropumps paired with AI server-grade fluorinated coolant.

Liquid Metal 3.0 sits above the vapor chamber to move heat away from the CPU quickly, while the vapor chamber itself uses a 4D structure with protrusions on both sides for better heat dissipation without added weight. The system is sealed, non-conductive, and rated to work between -40°C and 70°C, which helps limit thermal throttling during extended gaming.
