Spotify introduced Playlist Notes, building on the User Notes feature it launched last month. The new feature is designed to be used by Spotify’s global team of playlist editors and its users to share their stories on tracks.
Spotify – Playlist Notes
For its editors, it allows them to explain the thinking behind the given playlist or why a track matters and why it belongs in the playlist. You can also get to know the people behind the playlists through Editor Profiles.

Early on, Editor Playlist Notes will be available in Today’s Top Hits, RapCaviar, Hot Country, All New Pop, mint, and Fresh Finds Hip-Hop.
The company clarified that Playlist Notes from editors and their profiles are rolling out to both free and premium users aged 16 and up in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. It is uncertain when it will be introduced in the rest of the regions.

The feature can also be used in your own playlist by adding notes to tracks, podcast episodes, and audiobooks, allowing you to tell your own story of why these made your cut.
To make your notes:
- Open a playlist you own or collaborate on
- Tap the three dots next to a track, podcast episode, or audiobook
- Select Add Note
- Enter your Note
- Tap Save
This more personalized implementation of the feature is available on Android and iOS in more than 100 regions.
