Sony has announced its latest mid-range smartphone, the Xperia 10 VIII. Despite a premium EUR 599 price tag, the new device offers minimal upgrades over its predecessor.
Sony Xperia 10 VIII – Minimal Upgrades, Premium Price
The Xperia 10 VIII retains the 6.1-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED screen, though Sony claims a 50% boost in peak brightness. Under the hood, it still relies on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Photography hardware remains unchanged with a 50MP main sensor and 13MP ultrawide lens, powered by a familiar 5,000 mAh battery with 30W charging capabilities.

However, the device keeps legacy features, boasting a 3.5mm headphone jack and a microSD slot for expandable storage. Audio also receives a minor enhancement with 30% louder front-firing stereo speakers.

Running Android 16 with a promise of four major OS updates, the Xperia 10 VIII will be available in Frozen White, Frosted Grey, and Misty Lilac. The smartphone is slated to hit the market in mid to late September.
