Smart Communications has partnered with cloud gaming service Blacknut, giving Smart and TNT subscribers access to more than 1,000 games through a mobile browser. Weekly access starts at P145 and can be charged to prepaid load.

The service is available through blacknut.com/psmart, where subscribers can register with a Smart or TNT number, verify through a one-time password, and begin playing without downloading an app or installing large game files. Gameplay is processed on cloud servers and streamed to the device, reducing the need for a gaming PC or console.

Browser-based game streaming

Blacknut’s catalog includes a mix of AAA, indie, and family-oriented titles, with franchises and games such as NBA 2K, For Honor, Asphalt, Overcooked!, and several LEGO games listed among the available content. Smart said the browser-based setup is designed to let players launch games within seconds on a smartphone.

The partnership targets one of cloud gaming’s central promises: making higher-end games available on everyday devices, provided the player has a stable and responsive internet connection. Cloud gaming shifts the processing work from the user’s hardware to remote servers, but it also makes latency and network consistency critical to the experience.

Network performance focus

Smart said its network is positioned to support low-latency applications such as game streaming. The company cited Ookla’s Speedtest Connectivity Report for the first half of 2025, which named Smart the Philippines’ best mobile network for latency performance, with a reported median latency of 45.88 ms across technologies.

It also pointed to Ookla’s analysis of Speedtest Intelligence data for the second half of 2025, where Smart received recognition for best mobile video experience and posted a Video Score of 78.60. Those metrics are relevant to streaming services, although actual cloud-gaming performance will still vary by location, device, signal quality, and network traffic.

Subscription availability

The Blacknut offer is currently aimed at Smart and TNT subscribers. Payment is charged directly to prepaid load, removing the need for a separate card or app-store transaction.

For Smart, the deal expands its digital entertainment lineup beyond conventional mobile games and video streaming. For Blacknut, which says it operates in more than 65 countries, the partnership gives the service a direct route to local mobile users in the Philippines.
