According to recent leaks from noted tipster Digital Chat Station, OnePlus is working on a device designed specifically to bridge the gap between mobile flexibility and console performance.
OnePlus Handheld Gaming Device Coming?
Leaked renders suggest a departure from traditional handheld designs like the Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck. Instead of a joystick-heavy layout, the handheld reportedly promotes a “touch-screen first” experience. The device features ergonomic purple grips and physical shoulder buttons, but its core interface is optimized for multi-finger touch responsiveness.
Specifications indicate the handheld will sport a large 8-inch display with an ultra-high refresh rate. Under the hood, it is expected to house a flagship Dimensity processor and an active cooling system.
Moreover, by blending high-end smartphone hardware with a dedicated gaming form factor, OnePlus looks to provide a “Frankenstein’s monster” of a device that offers a distinct competitive advantage for touch-interface veterans. The company has yet to provide details on pricing or a potential global release date.
