Apple’s iPhone fold smartphone may arrive sooner than expected, according to reports. While previous speculation suggested a 2027 debut, the latest supply chain reports indicate the “iPhone Fold” could arrive as early as late 2026.
Apple iPhone Fold Might Arrive Sooner
Apple is narrowing its focus on a “clamshell” design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip series. This shift comes as the company reportedly secures components for a high-durability hinge and a display that can meet Apple’s rigorous “no-crease” standards.

The device is said to feature a primary internal display measuring 7.8 inches when unfolded, bridging the gap between a standard iPhone and an iPad Mini. The brand may also integrate Touch ID into the power button and use a new high-density battery technology.
Industry experts believe Apple is timing the launch to coincide with its 50th anniversary in 2026. Despite the accelerated timeline, the device is expected to command a premium price tag that may exceed USD 2,000.
While Apple remains officially silent on its foldable plans, the increased frequency of patent filings and supply chain orders suggests that the tech giant is finally ready to challenge its rivals in the foldable market.
