Apple has just introduced iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4, which introduce new features like new emojis, an ambient music widget, a Sleep Highlight, and more.
It is now available for iPhones and iPads by going through Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 add new features like new emoji characters that include an orca, trombone, landslide, ballet dancer, and distorted face. Additionally, Freeform is now part of the Apple Creator Studio. It now offers image creation and editing tools, and a premium content library
The Health app also now has a new Sleep Highlight, which shows you your bedtime from the previous night compared to your average.
The new update also introduces Ambient Music widgets that you can add to your Home Screen or Today View. This allows you to match your mood or activity with Sleep, Chill, Productivity, and Wellbeing playlists.

In relation to this, Apple Music now has a Playlist Playground, which comes in beta. The new feature generates a playlist from your description, offering a title, description, and tracklist.
Other features of iOS 26.4 and iPadOS 26.4 include:
- Full-screen backgrounds give album and playlist pages in Apple Music a more immersive
- Subtitle and caption settings are available from the captions while viewing media
- Expanded support for Hold Assist for English (New Zealand, South Africa, and Ireland, Mandarin Chinese (Taiwan), Korean, and French (Canada)
- Live Translation in Messages expands to support for English (Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, India, Singapore), Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong), French (Canada), Italian (Switzerland), German (Switzerland), Spanish (Mexico, United States), Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and Portuguese (Portugal)
This update is now available for over-the-air by going to your Software Update option in your Settings, under General.
