MediaTek has just launched the MediaTek Dimensity 8500, its latest mid-range chipset for smartphones with a new all-Cortex-A725 core design.
It was introduced alongside the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s.
MediaTek Dimensity 8500
The MediaTek Dimensity 8500 boasts an all-big-core design based on the 4nm TSMC N4P process. It uses an Arm Cortex-A725 for all eight CPU cores of the chipset, running at different speeds. The prime core is clocked at 3.4GHz, while three high-performance cores run at 3.20GHz and four are clocked at 2.20GHz.

This is the second-generation all-big-core design for the mid-range series chipsets, with the Dimensity 8400 being the first. MediaTek claims that the second-generation design delivers a 7% improvement in performance over its predecessor.
Moreover, the Dimensity 8500 also supports faster LPDDR5X memory of up to 9600Mbps. It also features the new Arm Mali-G720-MC8 GPU, which is said to deliver up to 25% better peak performance while requiring less power by 20% at peak load than its predecessor.

The claims that it is the first chip in the segment to offer realistic ray tracing. The GPU is said to deliver stable frame rates above 110fps at 35 degrees Celsius.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8500 uses the company’s NPI 880 for neural processing and on-device generative AI features. The company also offers AI-assisted imaging tools like AI Ultra-Clear Telephoto Algorithm, AI-powered reflection and glare removal, and semantic segmentation.
For connectivity, the new chip features a 5G modem that delivers download speeds of up to 5.17Gbps and supports dual-SIM dual-standby. MediaTek UltraSave 3.0+ technology is also on the chip, which reduces power consumption.

He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
