AYANEO, a company known for handheld gaming consoles, announced the AYANEO Pocket Play, a new device marketed as a true “phone for gamers.” The standout feature of the Pocket Play is its physical slide-out controller, which transforms the standard smartphone form factor into a dedicated handheld gaming machine.

Reminiscent of classic slider phones, this design allows users to reveal a full, integrated set of game controls, including joysticks, a D-pad, and buttons—from beneath the screen. This unique mechanism is intended to eliminate the need for bulky clip-on accessories and provides a tactile, master-level control experience superior to relying solely on touchscreen inputs.

While AYANEO has yet to release the full specifications, the Pocket Play is expected to run on a high-end Android platform, likely featuring a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Moreover, by blending the utility of a modern smartphone with the dedicated controls of a console, the Pocket Play aims to capture the attention of mobile gamers seeking uncompromising performance and portability. The device signals an exciting new entry into the competitive mobile gaming market.
