The amount of AI content on the different social media platforms has been on the rise as of late. TikTok has just announced that it is testing a setting to control how much AI content you see in your feed.
TikTok – AI Content Control
The AI-generated Content control will be added to the Manage Topics option, found in Content preferences, once it rolls out for everyone. It will join other content topics like Creative Arts, Current Affairs, Dance, Fashion & Beauty, and more.
If you’ve never tweaked your “For You” feed, this option features a scrollable bar. This allows you to fine-tune just how much you want of each kind of content rather than just toggle it on or off.

TikTok shared that there are more than 1.3 billion videos on its platform that are labeled as AI-generated. These, though, are based on the watermarking system called Content Credentials, which adds metadata to AI-generated content. This system is harder to detect when these are edited, copied, or reshared to other platforms.
To further address this, TikTok will also experiment with an additional invisible watermarking system that could help identify and label AI content. This will add another layer of safeguards and make it harder for others to remove.
It’s uncertain when the company will roll out the added control feature.
