Spotify in ChatGPT
Starting today, Spotify can join ChatGPT conversations, too. Both Spotify Free and Premium users in the Philippines can now bring Spotify into their ChatGPT conversations to receive personalized music and podcast recommendations.
How it works:
- Start a conversation in ChatGPT and mention Spotify in your prompt. The first time you do this, you’ll be prompted to connect your Spotify account.
- From there, simply ask for songs, artists, albums, playlists, or podcast episodes. ChatGPT will automatically bring up the Spotify app in your chat and use relevant context to accomplish the task. Alternatively, ask for recommendations based on a mood, theme, or topic, and Spotify will surface personalized picks seamlessly within the flow of your conversation.
- Tapping a track will open the Spotify app, allowing you to listen and watch directly from there.
Once connected to Spotify, users can inquire about new releases from K-pop artists or request playlists featuring Filipino musicians. ChatGPT can also assist in curating soundtracks for activities like road trips, with the effectiveness enhanced by providing details such as genre or mood. Free users have access to playlists like Discover Weekly, while Premium users can enjoy personalized selections based on detailed prompts. Efforts are ongoing to improve personalization through technology and editorial insights.
Connecting Spotify to ChatGPT is an opt-in feature where users maintain full control to connect or disconnect at any time. Artists’ work remains protected, and Spotify will not share any audio or video content for training purposes. The Spotify app in ChatGPT is now live in English across 145 countries, available to all logged-in users on web and mobile platforms, providing a new way for listeners to discover content and for artists and podcasters to gain exposure.
