Huawei invites artists worldwide to unleash their imagination at the HUAWEI GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity 2025, a global art competition celebrating the future of digital creativity. It is open for submissions until December 31, 2025 and open to both creators and hobbyists.
Powered by HUAWEI’s GoPaint app, a digital painting software that transforms every MatePad into a creative studio. This year, GoPaint introduces an Animation category.
HUAWEI GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity 2025
The HUAWEI GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity 2025 will award 20 Honorable Mentions, each receiving USD 1,000 in prize money and an official certificate. Each entry also has the chance to be showcased at HUAWEI press conferences, art exhibitions, global campaigns, or highlights across social media platforms.
Select pieces can be immortalized in HUAWEI themes or merchandise. Moreover, the winners will be given the chance to share the story behind their creations through video interviews.
Celebrating Global Creativity Through Digital Art

The HUAWEI GoPaint Worldwide Creating Activity 2025 calls on participants from around the world to submit original works across five categories:
- Digital Watercolor & Ink
- Animation
- Sci-Fi Art
- Cutting-edge Paintings
- Narrative Art
All participants aged 18 and above may submit up to 30 artworks, and these must be created using any HUAWEI tablet.
Submissions must be uploaded through the official contest website in JPG, PNG, or MP4 format with original EXIF trait data intact. Image works should be under 30 MB at 300 dpi, while animations may be up to 400 MB with 1080p resolution.
Each entry must include a short description (30-100 words) to capture the story behind each artwork. Shortlisted participants may also be asked to submit a time-lapse or process recording of their creation.
Honoring Art Excellence with Global Recognition
Winners will be selected by a panel of international judges who will review submissions through a multi-stage evaluation process. Among these include:
- Dezio – French urban artist and co-founder of Urban Art United (UAU)
- Laura Gallon – co-founder of the Arte Laguna prize and board member of MoCA Italia
- Jia Zhangke – President of the China Film Directors’ Guild
- Victo Ngai – a world-renowned illustrator recognized by Forbes U.S. and the first ethnic Chinese recipient of the Hamilton King Award from the Society of Illustrators
Together, their diverse artistic expertise and experiences ensure that every entry showcases the highest potential of digital artistry.
