Apple has just introduced the new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the new M5 chip, which is said to deliver a huge leap in AI performance.
The company also introduced the new iPad Pro and Apple Vision Pro, both powered by the new M5 chip.
M5-Powered 14-inch MacBook Pro
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 chip boasts a next-generation 10-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator in each core that is said to offer up to 3.5x the AI performance and up to 1.6x faster graphics than the M4 chip. This is even up to 6x faster than the M1.
This is coupled with a 16-core Neural Engine that further accelerates on-device, AI-driven tasks. The new chipset can also offer a battery life of up to 24 hours.
The GPU also delivers up to 1.6x faster graphics performance in pro apps and up to 1.6x higher frame rates in games compared to the M4 model.
Meanwhile, the 10-core CPU is said to offer up to 20% faster multithread performance versus M4 for workloads.
It is built around a 14-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with a nano-texture option and up to 1600 nits peak HDR brightness and up to 1000 nits of brightness for SDR content. The panel also features a 12MP Center Stage camera and studio-quality mics. Moreover, it has an immersive six-speaker sound system with support for Spatial Audio.
Out of the box, it runs on macOS Tahoe, featuring major updates to Spotlight, Continuity, the new Liquid Glass, and more.

The M5-powered 14-inch MacBook Pro is available in two colors – Space Black and Silver. Its local was revealed, and it comes in a variety of memory configurations. These are priced at:
