MediaTek just unveiled its latest flagship chipset – the MediaTek Dimensity 9500. It boasts next-generation Arm CPU cores and carries over the All Big Core design as the Dimensity 9400.

MediaTek Dimensity 9500

The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 features an Arm C1-Ultra core clocked at 4.21GHz. This is joined by three C1-Premium cores and four C1-Pro cores.

These are said to improve performance of up to 32% in single-core and 17% multi-core performance than the Dimensity 9400. The Prime Ultra core achieves up to 55% lower power consumption at peak performance.

The chip also supports Armv9.3 with new SME2 (Scalable Matrix Extensions) instructions that deliver faster AI perception performance.

The Dimensity 9500 supports the new 4-channel UFS 4.1 storage, which is said to deliver 100% faster sequential data speeds.

It is equipped with the new Arm G1-Ultra GPU and supports Vulkan’s ray tracing pipeline and Unreal Engine 5 MegaLights and Nanite. The GPU is said to deliver up to 33% higher peak performance and 42% improved power efficiency than its predecessor. It also has twice the ray tracing units and offers up to 112% faster ray tracing performance.

MediaTek also features the ninth-generation NPU 990 with Generative AI Engine 2.0 and BitNet 1.58-bit large model processing with up to 33% reduced power consumption. The lower power consumption is thanks to an integrated compute-in-memory architecture.

The chipset has the new MediaTek Imagiq 1190 ISP that supports RAW-domain processing of up to 200MP and supports the latest MiraVision Adaptive Display feature.

It has a 10% and 20% lower power consumption in 5G and Wi-Fi, respectively.
