vivo has just announced that the vivo X Fold5 will be arriving in the Philippines in August. This is vivo’s latest foldable and its first foldable smartphone to arrive in Southeast Asia.

The vivo X Fold5 has a slim and light design at just 4.3mm when unfolded and 217 grams. For comparison, this is said to be just as thin as two stacked coins.

Moreover, the foldable is protected by 2nd-generation Armor Architecture with Carbon Fiber Support Hinge with a rotating sliding structure. The hinge is made of aerospace-grade steel with fiber metal nuts, both are said to increase the toughness by 47.3% compared to its predecessor.

The hinge survived the company’s 600,000 fold test, providing its long-term durability. To add to the durability, the foldable is certified with IP8, IPX9, and IPX9 for water resistance and IP5xX dust resistance.

It is also equipped with a 6000mAh BlueVolt battery, a cell that combines a fourth-generation silicon anode and second-generation semi-solid battery technologies.

Being a member of the X Fold, the vivo X Fold5 has a camera system co-engineered with ZEISS. This includes a 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera coupled with vivo’s in-house image processing algorithms.

With the arrival of the vivo X Fold5 in the Philippines, Filipinos will be among the first in Southeast Asia to experience the company’s latest foldable.
