The Antigravity A1, a new drone by Insta360 as a co-creation project with Antigravity, has been unveiled as the “world’s first” all-in-one 8K 360-degree drone. Weighing just 249 grams, the A1 is designed to be travel-friendly and does not require registration in most regions.

The drone’s unique design features two ultrawide cameras positioned on the top and bottom, which, with advanced stitching algorithms, create a seamless 360-degree view that completely removes the drone from the final footage. This “invisible” effect is similar to Insta360’s selfie stick.

According to The Verge, flying the A1 is a new experience, thanks to its companion Vision goggles and Grip motion controller. The goggles provide a first-person perspective, streaming 360-degree video that allows the pilot to look around freely without changing the drone’s direction of flight. The controller, reminiscent of a Wii Remote, uses a point-and-click method for intuitive steering.

This setup, which Antigravity calls “FreeMotion” technology, simplifies the flying experience for beginners and allows creators to “fly first, frame later.” With every angle recorded in 8K, users can reframe and edit their shots in post-production, ensuring they never miss a key moment. The A1 is slated for a market release in January 2026.
