Xiaomi‘s highly anticipated “Ultra” flagship phone, likely to be named the Xiaomi 16 Ultra, could hit the market earlier than anticipated, potentially before the close of 2025. This leak came from a post by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo.

This launch schedule deviates from Xiaomi’s usual post-Spring Festival release cycle. It is reportedly driven by the company’s enhanced collaboration with Leica, aiming to highlight advancements in mobile imaging technology.

Xiaomi 16 Ultra Rumored Launch Details

The Xiaomi 16 Ultra is confirmed to integrate the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor. Design-wise, it is expected to feature a flat display, marking a notable shift from previous models.

Beyond the primary Ultra variant, reports suggest the company is developing two additional spinoffs: the 16S Ultra, rumored to include the company’s proprietary XRING chip, and the 16 Ultra Max, which is anticipated to house top-tier camera hardware.

Furthermore, the company is exploring a modular optical system, initially showcased in a concept, the 15 vanilla phone. This innovative system enables lossless RAW image capture, high-speed optical transmission, and an expanded dynamic range powered by artificial intelligence. 

If the 16 Ultra Max incorporates this modular system, it could position it as the company’s most ambitious smartphone to date, setting a new benchmark for mobile photography.
