Sony Philippines has announced the pre-order details for its latest Cinema Line camera, the Sony FX2 Compact Camera (model ILME-FX2), targeting independent filmmakers and content creators seeking professional-grade cinematic capabilities.

The Sony FX2 boasts a full-frame 33.0 effective megapixel back-illuminated Exmor R sensor for professional image quality with up to 15+ stops of wide latitude using S-Log3. The camera supports dual base ISO settings of 800 and 4000 for S-Log 3, with video ISO sensitivity expandable up to 102400 for low-light shooting conditions.
Recording capabilities include 4:2:2 10-bit All-Intra formats and support for XAVC S-I DCI 4K at 24.00p. The camera offers variable frame rates up to 60 fps in 4K for 2.5x slow-motion effects and up to 120 fps in Full HD for 5x slow motion. Extended shooting capability allows up to 13 hours of continuous 4K 60p recording, supported by an internal cooling fan and effective heat dissipation structure.
The Sony FX2 uses Real-time Recognition AF technology with improved accuracy for human subjects, while also extending intelligent subject recognition to animals, birds, vehicles, and insects. Focus features include breathing compensation, AF Assist, and customizable autofocus transition speed and sensitivity controls.

The camera features Active Mode and Dynamic Active Mode for handheld shooting stability. An Auto Framing feature automatically crops and tracks subjects when mounted on a tripod, while the Framing Stabiliser maintains subject positioning within the frame during operator movement.
For still photography, the Sony FX2 offers high-resolution 33MP stills with a newly added log shooting menu optimized for color grading in post-production. A MOVIE/STILL mode lever enables quick switching between video and photography modes.
The camera has a 3.68-million-dot tiltable electronic viewfinder with a deep eyepiece and a vari-angle 3.0-type touchscreen LCD. Control layout includes intuitive top panel and grip positioning with tally lamps for recording indication. A customizable “BIG6” home screen displays frequently used parameters including FPS, ISO, shutter settings, and white balance.

The handle-included model provides two XLR/TRS terminals and a 3.5mm stereo mini jack for professional 4-channel, 24-bit digital audio input. Connectivity options include HDMI Type-A terminal supporting up to 4K 60p 4:2:2 10-bit video output, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), wired LAN capability via compatible adapter, and USB Type-C port with SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps data transfer and USB Power Delivery support.
The camera measures 129.7 x 77.8 x 103.7 mm and weighs approximately 679 grams, featuring built-in mounting points and cageless configuration compatibility.
Sony has also equipped with FX2 with comprehensive accessibility features which include a Screen Reader function and Display Magnification to support visually impaired users. The manufacturing process utilizes facilities powered entirely by renewable energy sources, supporting Sony’s Road to Zero environmental initiative targeting zero environmental footprint by 2050.
Pre-Order Information

The Sony FX2 is priced at PHP 184,999 (Body-Only) and PHP 204,999 (with XLR Handle), respectively. The Pre-order promo runs from July 11, 2025 to August 28, 2025, available at participating Sony Centres and authorized retailers with a required down payment of PHP 5,000 for one unit of ILME-FX2 or ILME-FX2B.
