Meta has purged the Facebook pages of several well-known local influencers for their involvement in promoting illegal online gambling. This decisive action follows a joint request from the digital advocacy group Digital Pinoys and the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC).
Meta Crackdown
Ronald Gustilo, National Campaigner for Digital Pinoys, lauded Meta’s prompt response and expressed optimism for further removals of flagged accounts.

The initial wave of takedowns includes well-known personalities such as Sachzna Laparan, Boy Tapang, Mark Anthony Fernandez, and Kuya Lex TV, among a total of 20 influencers identified for review.
Gustilo stated that these influencers “gambled with the law and are now facing consequences,” underscoring that this marks the initial phase of a more extensive crackdown. He also commended the CICC, led by Asec. Aboy Paraiso, for their resolute and effective measures against illegal online activities.
This development highlights ongoing efforts to combat illicit gambling and cybercrime within the Philippines.
