Acer’s presence at Computex 2025 was something you could not ignore, given the numerous products and innovations that were showcased at the event. One of which is the ACER Swift Edge 14 AI, a 14-inch thin and light ultrabook that’s equipped with an Intel Core Ultra Series 2 Processor that’s set to rival other ultrabooks in the market. Acer sent us a sample unit for us to check out.
ACER Swift Edge 14 AI – A Closer Look

Like most brands, Acer uses eco-friendly packaging for its Swift series ultrabooks. Unlike most brands, though, Acer doesn’t have an interior box to house the unit, so you get to access the laptop once you open the brown box.

The Acer Swift Edge 14 AI comes in white with gold accents throughout the LID. This time around, Acer has positioned its logo off-center for a more premium look compared to the usual center logo placement that we see on most Acer laptops.

Underneath, you have a relatively large cutout for the cooling system intake, with the exhaust directly at the back of the laptop.

Acer passes with flying colors for its IO configuration for an ultrabook. Normally, we’d only see two USB Type-C ports, and in some cases, one more Type-A port, but Acer has managed to cram in only two dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, but also two USB Type-A ports and one full-sized HDMI port.

There are no gold accents on the keyboard deck, as you have a dominantly white color with translucent keycaps for the white LED lighting. That said, its lighting is one of the weakest we’ve seen on a laptop, most especially ultrabooks, where you won’t see that it’s turned on unless you’re in a dark room. That said, the unit we have is an engineering unit, so the retail unit could be and hopefully be brighter than our sample.

Typing experience is satisfying on the Acer Swift Edge 14 AI. The keys have decent tactile feedback with minimal key wobbling when pressing the keys near the edges. Like most ultrabooks, the Swift Edge 14 AI suffers from using small arrow up and down keys with large left and right keys.
While the power button has an odd placement, it also acts as a fingerprint sensor for Windows Hello login. As you may know, we are not a fan of placing the power button inside the keyboard deck area as it is prone to misclicks, especially since most of the placements are near the delete key or backspace key, or worse, both. Acer kinda circumvents these typos by having the power button key, a real button instead of a membrane key like the rest of the keyboard deck. The actuation force required to press the button is far heavier than the keystrokes, so you don’t have the risk of accidentally shutting down the laptop if you have a typo.

The touchpad on the Acer Swift Edge 14 AI is on the smaller side compared to most ultrabooks, but it’s not small enough to be rendered useless. That said, it would’ve been nice if Acer had maximized the trackpad space vertically.

The logo on the upper right of the trackpad lights up whenever there’s AI processing involved. This works when the NPU of the Intel Core Series Ultra 2 has a workload to indicate to the user that there’s AI at work.
ACER Swift Edge 14 AI – Display and Camera

The Acer Swift Edge 14 AI has a 14.5-inch 16:10 2880x1800p OLED touch display. It’s also the world’s first laptop to use a Corning Gorilla Matte Pro glass on a display to reduce reflection by 95% compared to traditional alternatives while also improving contrast ratio by 2X and reducing sparkles by 50%.
The display is also HDR500 certified, and since this is an engineering unit, we didn’t test the color gamut with our SpyderX Pro Display Analysis tool.

As good as Acer’s display is, the same cannot be said for the 1080p FHD IR HDR camera. There are far more cheaper laptops that have the same to better quality than what we see with the Edge 14 AI.
ACER Sense

ACER Sense is Acer’s all-in-one software solution where you can update your laptop’s BIOS and Drivers as well as configure the laptop’s power profile. ACER Sense also keeps you updated with the latest offers for your device.
Initial Thoughts
The Acer Swift Edge 14 AI is a remarkable laptop wth its less than 1kg and 14-inch form factor that manages to pack in more than a typical premium ultrabook. It sports a ton of well-thought-out features, such as the power button and AI lighting. These features do not improve overall performance but instead help the user in terms of quality of life in using the laptop. We’re very much excited to test out a retail sample to see if its performance and battery life could seal the deal to consider making your purchase.
