YouTube is rolling out a new AI-powered search results carousel, a feature designed to streamline content discovery for its Premium subscribers. This innovative tool, currently exclusive to the mobile app, surfaces relevant video suggestions and concise topic descriptions for user queries related to shopping, places, or activities.

As an example of this feature, a search for “Best beaches in Hawaii” will now present a carousel showcasing highlights from various videos, complete with explanations of their relevance.
Users can navigate by tapping on thumbnails to jump to different video segments or select a clip to begin watching the full video from that specific point.
The AI-powered carousel is presently available to YouTube Premium members within the United States. There is no immediate information regarding its broader rollout to other markets.
In a related development, YouTube is also expanding access to its conversational AI chatbot. Previously a Premium-exclusive benefit, this chatbot, which allows users to ask questions about a video and receive content recommendations without interrupting playback, will become available to a limited number of non-Premium users in the U.S. in the coming weeks.
