Grammy-winning producer and rapper Timbaland has launched a new label focused on artificial intelligence, signing his first AI “artist,” TaTa.
The new record label, named Stage Zero, aims to merge human creativity with AI-generated sounds to explore and create new music genres, including what is being dubbed “A-pop” or “AI-pop”.

The announcement follows the producer’s recent comments on the current state of music, in which he described new artists and their creations as “uninspiring” and “soulless” on The Inner Court podcast.

In addition, he attributed this perceived decline to societal divisions and suggested that AI could offer a fresh perspective and genuine expression in music.
Stage Zero is set to release TaTa’s debut single soon, marking a significant step in Timbaland’s dive into AI-driven entertainment. The move highlights a growing trend of integrating artificial intelligence into creative industries, prompting discussions about the future of music production and artistry.
