Apple has just introduced its latest operating systems at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2025 (WWDC 2025), like the iPhone’s iOS 26. Joining it are the updates to iPadOS, watchOS, macOS, and more.
iOS 26
One of the main features of the latest OS from Apple is the new Liquid Glass material, and that includes iOS 26. The new material is a new translucent material that reflects and refracts its surroundings and more.

On the Lock Screen, Liquid Glass allows the time to fluidly adapt to the available space in an image. This includes going longer when notifications aren’t there, and going smaller when you pull up the Stack.

Moreover, the new material is rolled out in apps like:
- Camera – helps you keep your attention on the moment you’re taking
- Photos – separate tabs for Library and Collection views
- Safari – web pages flow from the top edge to the bottom of the screen
- Apple Music, News, and Podcasts – a tab bar is redesigned to float above your content

iOS 26 also brings new features powered by Apple Intelligence. This includes:
- Live Translation in Messages, FaceTime, and Phone
- Visual Intelligence – search and take action on viewing your apps, like save time and date, time, location or look for products
- Genmoji and Image Playground
- Better Shortcuts

Apple has also introduced new features for the Phone app and Messages. Phone app now has a unified layout that combines Favorites, Recents, and Voicemails; Call Screening to eliminate interruptions; and Hold Assist that notifies you when a live agent is available.

Meanwhile, Messages now screens messages from unknown senders and separates messages from unknown senders. You can now also add backgrounds to your messages and be able to create polls and see who’s typing in group chats.

The company also unveiled updates to Apple Music, namely Lyrics Translation and Lyrics Pronunciation. A new Apple Games app was also announced as an all-in-one destination for your games.
iOS 26 is now available via the Apple Developer Program, with a beta set next month. The full version is expected to roll out in Fall.
