Fujifilm announces the global launch of the Fujifilm X-E5, the latest model in the X-series. It offers a compact, and lightweight body, comes in two colors, and is the first in the series to have a top plate crafted from machined aluminum.
Fujifilm X-E5
The Fujifilm X-E5 is a mirrorless digital camera that weighs around 445g and is equipped with the back-illuminated 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor coupled with the X-Processor 5 image processing engine. The latest X series camera has a digital teleconverter function that allows 1.4x and 2.0x zoom levels.
It is the first in the camera series that features a five-axis IBIS mechanism that delivers up to 7 stops in the center and 6 stops in the periphery. Additionally, it is the first time in the X series that a camera has a top plate crafted solely from machined aluminum for a more premium feel.
It also features a newly designed Film Simulation dial with a precision-cut indicator window that minimizes the gap between the dial and the body. In addition, you can set Film Simulation and image quality settings to the FS1-FS3 positions.
The Fujifilm X-E5 has a new Surround View that joins the new Classic Display. The former displays the area around the shooting range as a semi-transparent or line pattern according to the aspect ratio. Meanwhile, the latter is a retro and minimalist mode for the EVF, inspired by old film cameras, and has EVF information simplified. You can easily switch between these two modes using a level.
The camera also has a rear-tilting monitor that can be flipped upward and forward facing up to 180 degrees, which accommodates a variety of compositions that include selfies.
The X-E5 supports up to 6.2K video at 30p resolution and features a tracking AF function during video recording.
