Sony has officially launched the WH-1000XM6 wireless noise canceling headphones, the latest addition to its award-winning 1000X series. This newest model introduces advanced noise cancellation technology, premium sound quality co-created with renowned mastering engineers, and enhanced comfort features designed for extended wear.
Revolutionary Noise Cancellation
The WH-1000XM6 headphones are equipped with Sony’s most sophisticated noise cancellation system to date, powered by the HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3. This processor operates at speeds seven times faster than its predecessor and manages 12 microphones—1.5 times more than the previous WH-1000XM5 model—to deliver superior noise reduction capability.
The Adaptive NC Optimizer adjusts to external noise and air pressure changes, while Auto Ambient Sound mode intelligently balances music and environmental sounds based on the surroundings. Settings can be adjusted automatically or manually through the Sony | Sound Connect app.

Sony developed the WH-1000XM6 in partnership with world-renowned mastering engineers from Sterling Sound, Battery Studios, and Coast Mastering. The team includes Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated engineers who have worked with artists such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Bob Dylan, and Alicia Keys.
The headphones feature a specially designed driver unit with a high rigidity carbon fiber composite material dome and uniquely developed voice coil structure that captures subtle details across all frequencies. Supporting High-Resolution Audio and High-Resolution Audio Wireless via LDAC technology, the WH-1000XM6 also utilizes DSEE Extreme with Edge-AI to upscale compressed digital music files in real time.
The headphones offer a 10-band EQ, Background Music Effect, Game EQ, and 360 Reality Audio Upmix for Cinema, which creates a spatial sound experience similar to a movie theater.

The WH-1000XM6 introduces ultra-clear call quality with a six-microphone AI-based beamforming system that isolates the user’s voice from background noise. The AI-optimized noise reduction algorithm ensures clear communication even in noisy environments, while convenient mute functionality is available directly on the headphones.
Comfort and Design
The headphones feature an elegant, soft-fit wider headband with vegan leather for pressure-free comfort. The asymmetrical design allows users to easily identify left and right sides, while stretchable material in the earpads provides a secure yet gentle fit for all-day wear.
Intuitive controls include tactile buttons and a responsive touch panel for seamless switching between noise canceling, ambient sound, and mic mute functions. The WH-1000XM6 also incorporates a durable folding mechanism crafted using advanced metal injection, allowing for compact storage in the included case with magnetic closure.

Smart Features and Convenience
The WH-1000XM6 features Scene-based Listening, which automatically plays music according to the user’s activity and adjusts noise cancellation levels based on environment and location. Quick Access enables easy connectivity to music services including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music.
Additional features include LE Audio support for ultra-low latency gaming and Auracast access, multi-point connectivity for seamless device switching, and simultaneous listening and charging. A three-minute charge provides up to three hours of playback time.
Environmental Considerations
In line with Sony’s commitment to sustainability, the WH-1000XM6 packaging uses 100% paper materials, including Sony’s proprietary Original Blended Material—an environmentally conscious paper made from bamboo, sugarcane fibers, and post-consumer recycled paper.
Pricing and Availability in the Philippines
The Sony WH-1000XM6 will be available for pre-order in the Philippines from May 16 to June 20, 2025, at a suggested retail price of PHP 27,999. During the pre-order period, customers will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for a chance to win a trip to Coron, Palawan.
The headphones will be available at authorized Sony Dealers nationwide in three colors – Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue color options.
