realme recently announced the realme 14 5G and 14T 5G, the latest members of the realme 14 Series 5G in the Philippines.
The two new devices boast Performance Beyond Limits, and among the things it comes with to do so is its GT Boost. But what exactly is GT Boost, and how does it help the realme 14 5G and realme 14T 5G give a boost in gaming? I’m here to help give you an idea and share some settings I used and utilized to maximize gaming on the realme 14 5G.
Before I get to it, we previously released our First Impressions and Review articles. Check those out if you haven’t yet. We also took a peek at this in a recent Reel.
realme 14 5G – GT Boost and Beyond
As the name suggests, realme’s GT Boost was first introduced in the performance-centered GT Series, specifically debuting in the realme GT 7 Pro.

GT Boost refers to AI-powered enhancements and technologies for a smoother and more intuitive gaming experience.
Among its features are AI Motion Assist, Improved Touch Control, Smart Dual Channel Network, AI Power Optimization, Geek Power Tuning, Game Focus Mode, AI Eye Comfort for Gaming, and GT Mode.

Here’s a rundown of what some of these do:
- AI Motion Assist – improves gyroscope-based controls for smoother movement
- Improved Touch Control – enhances touch sensitivity, reducing impact lag
- Smart Dual-Channel Network – helps maintain a stable connection even in low-signal areas
- AI Power Optimization – balances battery consumption for extended playtime
- Geek Power Tuning – allows you to set the clock speeds of the CPU and GPU for maximum efficiency
- Game Focus Mode – offers an immersive, distraction-free gaming experience by blocking gaming tools, quick settings, calls, notifications, and more
- AI Eye Comfort for Gaming – AI automatically adjusts the display settings for better eye comfort
- GT Mode – enhances performance with a single tap, but also increases power consumption
I know, that’s a lot of features! And that’s just some of it, but these are features that allow gamers to tweak and customize the realme 14 5G to suit their needs.

For those of you who just want the extra oomph in performance, I suggest sticking to GT Mode. You can toggle this on by swiping from the upper left corner of your game screen and tapping GT Mode, which is next to Balanced mode. Of course, ideally, you toggle this on when you have the liberty of plugging in the device any time, as it will drain your battery faster.
You can also use Game Focus Mode, which is just a quality-of-life feature that will help you stay immersed in the game by blocking notifications. I don’t suggest using this, though, when you’re waiting for a call or expecting a delivery.
Another neat feature of the GT Boost in the realme 14 5G is Motion Control, which allows you to set game actions when tilting your phone in different directions. I, personally, didn’t use this feature because I tend to move a ton while playing on my phone. You’ll also need to set up what certain tilt actions do manually, and it requires support from the game.
Like me, it could be a feature you disregard altogether, but with a vast variety of mobile gamers out there, such a feature could come in handy for things like movement in-game.
With that said, here are some of the settings I chose to use for the games I played on the realme 14 5G.
Setting Up the realme 14 5G for Games
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
Let’s start with the lightest game to run on the list, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Because it is one of the easiest, of course, I ran it in Ultra setting in both High Frame Rate and Graphics. This allows you to enjoy the graphics of the game in all its glory.

GT Boost features that I ran with are GT Mode for extra performance, AI Eye Comfort for Gaming for.. Well.. comfort, and touch optimization. The last of which I just slightly tweaked the touch and swipe sensitivity. You can also turn on Network optimization if you think your connection is spotty and Game Focus Mode if you’re extra competitive and want to zone in.
Honkai Star Rail
Honkai Star Rail is up next, my favorite turn-based gacha game out there. I opted to run it at High settings. I kept everything that High offers, all but FPS, which I pumped up to 60 from the base 30.

You can get away with Very High, but I prefer a nice balance of graphics, performance, and battery.
I coupled this with GT Mode for extra performance and AI Eye Comfort because of the graphics. The combination of these settings gave me an average of about 30 fps while running through Calyx for the exp goodies and watching Welt go crazy on the enemies.
PUBG: Mobile
For PUBG: Mobile, I prioritized a high frame rate rather than graphics. It is a shooter after all, and survival is key. That said, I played at HDR Graphics and Extreme frame rate settings. This got me a stable 60 fps, as far as the System Status showed. I also had Power Saving and Auto-Adjust Graphics disabled.

The GT Boost settings I opted for with the realme 14 5G were more similar to Mobile Legends – GT Mode, Touch optimization, and Eye Comfort.
HDR Graphics is more than enough for me. Ultra HDR is an option, but based on testing, it only gives you an average of 40 fps. I’d rather enjoy higher fps with above-average graphics than maxed out graphics, but a decent fps for shooters like PUBG: Mobile.

PUBG: Mobile is among those games that support the Game filters feature, which has HDR, Night Vision, Brightness, and Old Movie filters to alter the color of the game.
Genshin Impact
Last, for this list but not least, is Genshin Impact. Of course, Genshin Impact!
The default graphical setting for the game is Lowest. But I solely played it at High settings with FPS cranked to 60 and Motion Blur turned off. If you want to be on the safer side, you can play at Medium settings with fps at 45 or lower. Personally, my sweet spot is High settings and 60 fps.

I turned on GT Mode for performance and Touch optimization with lower swipe and touch sensitivity because I want the accuracy.
These settings got me an average of 45 fps while exploring the overworld and completing quests and commissions.
Conclusion
GT Boost brings so much to the table for the realme 14 5G and realme 14T 5G. Its AI optimizations and customization provide so much flexibility to these devices as far as performance and tweaking.

Let’s not forget the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, which Qualcomm revealed was optimized across the board for the realme 14 5G in particular. The chipset is coupled with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. There’s also a massive 6000mAh battery all for a PHP 17,999 price tag.
You can still get the realme 14 5G and the realme 14T 5G with a free TechLife Headphones G1 worth PHP 2,199 until May 11, 2025 via the realme TikTok Shop.
