vivo unveiled two new foldable phones under the Vivo X Fold 3 series in China this week along with other new products. The vanilla vivo X Fold 3 comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, while the X Fold 3 Pro is the first foldable to feature the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. They are also equipped with a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50MP main sensor.
vivo X Fold 3 Series
Both the vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro have an ultra-thin design with a durable body, premium materials, and a carbon fiber hinge. Both sport an 8.03-inch AMOLED LTPO display with 2480 x 2200 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 4,500 nits of peak brightness, as well as support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+.
Under the hood, the vivo X Fold 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, while the X Fold 3 Pro gets the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. They are paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
For optics, the standard X Fold 3 has a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, and 50MP portrait lens. The Pro model also has a 50MP main camera, but is bolstered with OIS, a 64MP 3x telephoto unit, a 50MP ultra-wide unit, and a V3 Imaging chip. Both have a 32MP front camera.
Battery-wise, the vivo X Fold 3 packs a 5,500mAh battery with 80W wired charging. The Pro variant gets a slightly bigger 5,700mAh cell with 100W wired and 50W wireless flash charge.
Other highlights include Android 14-based OriginOS 4, dual 5G, WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, IR blaster, and NFC. Biometrics are handled by a side fingerprint scanner on the X Fold 3 and an ultrasonic 3D dual-screen scanner on the Pro.
vivo X Fold 3 Series Price and Availability
The vivo X Fold 3 series is now official in China and comes in multiple storage variants. The vanilla X Fold 3 with 12GB/256GB is priced at CNY 6,999, while the 16GB/256GB model is CNY 7,499. The higher 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB variants are CNY 7,999 and CNY 8,999, respectively.
The more premium vivo X Fold 3 Pro, on the other hand, comes in 16GB/512GB at CNY 9,999 and a top-end 16GB/1TB model at CNY 10,999.
The new foldable phones are available in Solar White and Eclipse Black colors. They are now up for pre-order in China, with shipping expected by the end of March.
