Nothing has just revealed the chipset that will be powering the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a), which is set to debut next month.

The Phone (2a) will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset. According to Nothing, this is said to be a custom-built co-engineered with MediaTek specifically for the new Phone but it is still built on the same TSMC 4nm process as the vanilla Dimensity 7200 launched last year.

The company revealed the benchmark score of the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro which outperformed the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 and Snapdragon 782G based on the AnTuTu 10.

If we were to take a guess, some cores are tweaked higher and the chipset itself is more optimized to work with the Phone (2a).

The company also revealed that the device will come with at least 12GB RAM with a booster that offers an additional 8GB.

The Nothing Phone (2a) will be launching on March 5, 2024 and we expect the company to continue to slowly reveal bits and pieces of the design and hardware of the upcoming device.
