MSI Takes Gaming on the Go with the MSI Claw Handheld

Gaming technology leader MSI has unveiled an exciting new portable gaming device at CES 2024 – the MSI Claw. As the world’s first handheld gaming system powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra processors, the Claw represents a massive leap forward for mobile gaming performance.

Powered by Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor

The star of the show is Intel’s new Core Ultra chip, which packs up to 8 high-performance Xe GPU cores based on the Xe-LP architecture. With two times the graphics power of previous integrated GPUs, the Core Ultra can handle AAA gaming on the go like never before. It’s aided by Intel’s new XeSS upscaling technology, which uses AI to boost frame rates while maintaining crisp image quality.

MSI has built upon this powerful silicon with their own innovative cooling technology. The Claw features an advanced thermal design with dual fans and heat pipes dubbed Cooler Boost HyperFlow. This keeps the Core Ultra processor running cool and quiet even when gaming for extended periods. A generous 53Wh battery gives around 2 hours of gaming time as well – excellent for a compact and portable device.

Full HD, 120Hz

The Claw has a 7-inch 1080p touch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring gorgeous visuals and responsive controls. The iconic MSI Center interface allows quick access to settings and a game launcher. And Thunderbolt 4 connectivity opens up fast external storage and display options.

As Portable as it Can be

At just 294x117x21.2mm and 675g, the Claw is designed for true on-the-go use. It fits comfortably in hand, with an ergonomic shape and grippy textures. The Claw can run both Windows and Android games too, thanks to the included MSI App Player software.

For gamers who want desktop-like performance in a handheld form factor, the MSI Claw is an exciting new option. It represents a new tier of integrated graphics capabilities in a portable package. The combination of Intel’s Core Ultra platform and MSI’s cooling and usability refinements make the Claw a force to be reckoned with. Gamers and tech enthusiasts will be eagerly awaiting its launch later this year.
