Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the Apple Vision Pro uses an M2 chip with ten GPU and eight CPU cores akin to higher-end MacBook Air models.

Although Apple had previously disclosed that the M2 processor it employs in its mixed reality headset is not new, it was unclear which version of the chip the company had selected.

Moreover, the M2 chip in the Apple Vision Pro headset processes content runs visionOS, executes algorithms, and provides graphical content, while a dedicated R1 chip processes information from cameras, sensors, and microphones.

Other features like its exact processor details and memory configuration though, are yet to be revealed but pre-orders will start on January 19. We expect to learn more about the new product by then.

This new mixed reality headset is priced at USD 3,499 (around PHP 196,000) and will go on sale on Feb 2, 2024, with pre-orders starting January 19, 2024, at 5 AM PST.
