Lalamove recently granted 100 partner driver beneficiaries PHP 20,000 worth of financial assistance through its BiyahEdukasyon program. The event, attended by 300 people and government officials, highlighted the brand’s dedication to supporting its driver communities.

During the ceremony, Lalamove Philippines recognized drivers from high school and college. The drivers shared how they planned to use the money for tuition, uniforms, and other school expenses.

BiyahEdukasyon: Delivering Care Through Education

According to data from 2022, only 81.4% of kids aged 5 to 24 can go to school. The main reasons are work (19.7%) and not having enough money for school (9.9%).

The BiyahEdukasyon program aims to help the families of drivers by supporting their education and career goals. Over a thousand stories of success and perseverance came in from drivers across 48 areas.

“Sa paglulunsad ng BiyahEdukasyon, hindi lang natin binibigyang halaga ang edukasyon, binibigyang-buhay din natin ang pangarap ng ating partner drivers na maitaguyod ang pag-aaral ng kanilang mga anak at kapatid [Through BiyahEdukasyon, we are not only putting importance on education but also in materializing the dreams of our partner drivers to support the education of their children and siblings].”

“Hangad ko na patuloy tayong maging bahagi ng mga hakbang tungo sa pag-usbong ng edukasyon. Tayo ay maging bahagi ng biyaheng punong-puno ng pag-asa para sa ating mga kababayan at para sa ating bansa [I wish that we continuously be a part of the growth of education in the country. Let us be part of the journey full of hope for our countrymen and our country].”

– Senate Committee on Basic Education Chairman Sen. Win Gatchalian

Lalamove’s Long-Term Commitment to Partner Drivers

Djon Nacario, the boss of Lalamove Philippines, stressed that the program goes beyond helping individual drivers.

“Our mission is clear: to ensure the success of our partner drivers and the communities that we work with in every facet of life,” Nacario said. “This program is a testament to our commitment to creating lasting positive change and in improving other aspects of our partner drivers’ lives, including their livelihood. This program not only demonstrates Lalamove’s commitment to its partner drivers but also underscores the significance of education as a key sector that we aim to continuously support.”

Fredinel Lopez, a 41-year-old driver from Manila, shared how the aid helps his daughter in high school to keep doing well in her studies. On the other hand, Dennis Pagtalunan, a 33-year-old driver from Bulacan, felt relieved when his sibling got the aid. He wants his brother, studying Criminology, to finish college and pursue his dreams.

The BiyahEdukasyon program, led by Lalamove’s Deliver Care initiative, is a step toward a long-term plan to support the company’s drivers and their communities. It aims to strengthen drivers’ abilities and give them extra support besides the Panalomove Benefits they already receive.

As Lalamove continues to change the delivery game, their commitment to helping drivers and communities grow remains strong.
