Roon is a music management software by Roon Labs, that enhances music listening experiences by organizing, managing, and presenting music in an interactive way, connecting to your music library, and providing metadata and images.
How does the acquisition benefit the two companies?
The Samsung subsidiary’s acquisition of Roon adds it to other audio brands like AKG, JBL, and Soundcraft. The acquisition is part of Harman’s identity to create exceptional audio experiences for partners and consumers.
Meanwhile, for Roon, it will give it access to the scale, resources, and reach to further its reach as a global technology leader.
It was clarified that the company will still be independent and invest in business growth, while transferring data management and consumer engagement expertise to the audio platform’s partners, including Samsung Mobile.
