Casetify is under fire for allegedly plagiarizing its Inside Out skins from dbrand’s Teardown skins, a skin collab with Tech Youtuber JerryRigEverything. A day after JerryRigEverything posted his expose and after a series of tweets from dbrand, Casetify finally issues a statement regarding the matter. The statement was posted on Casetify’s X page.
Casetify Copyright Infringement Statement

Casetify’s statement isn’t well received by the community as numerous users called out the brand for its poor and out-of-touch PR statement.
Umm, copying and pasting easter eggs does not count as originality.

Come on, how much will you guys embarrass yourselves?
"challenging time" 🥹🤡

Also "currently investigating a copyright allegation" has got to be the weirdest spelling for "attempting to cover up stolen work" I've ever seen.
Good luck in court.
Frankly, if we dissect and rebutt Casetify’s message, the message does indeed feel rushed and was just posted for the sake of “posting.” There’s likely no DDOS attack that happened as the server load was highly coming from curious netizens who want to see the plagiarized products themselves. Moreover, the “All customer information is safe” seems to be completely irrelevant considering the issue at hand and is just probably added to make the statement long enough.
dbrand strikes back
It took you copy-pasting clowns a full day to write this? Better hope your lawyers are better than your PR team 💀 https://t.co/1uEdudUPKB

"removed the designs in question from all platforms"

Guess @BestBuy doesn't count, eh? https://t.co/WMrsoxaTDW
In typical dbrand fashion, dbrand called out the statement saying “It took you copy-pasting clowns a full day to write this? Better hope your lawyers are better than your PR team.” dbrand also replied to the Casetify tweet disproving the “removed the designs in question from all platforms” part of the statement with a Inside Out product link from BestBuy.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse…

Using our designs to cover up our own designs doesn't make it a new product @Casetify. pic.twitter.com/kQBhuYHGuz
Additionally, JerryRigEverything made a video post in X showing Casetify’s attempt to swap out the plagiarized skins on its website before taking it all down.
