Apple has just announced the refreshed 24-inch iMac powered by the new M3 silicon. This was announced during the company’s ‘Scary Fast’ event which introduced the M3 chip family and the latest 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro.

The M3 chip is built on the 3nm process and brings hardware-accelerated ray tracing and mesh shading and a 16-core Neural Engine.

The new 24-inch iMac features a 4.5K Retina display with 11.3 million pixels while still retaining its slim design. It also comes in up to seven vibrant colors – Blue, Green, Pink, Silver, Yellow, Orange, and Purple.

The M3 chip on the iMac features an 8-core CPU, up to a 10-core GPU, and up to 24GB of unified memory. It is said to perform up to 30% faster on productivity apps, 50% faster frame rates on games, and 2x faster on Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe Photoshop compared to its predecessor.

The new all-in-one Mac also features Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, four USB-C ports (with two Thunderbolt ports), and supports up to a 6K display. Additionally, it has a 1080p FaceTime camera, studio-quality mics, and a six-speaker sound system with support for Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos.

Pricing and Availability

The 24-inch iMac comes in three M3 configurations. These are priced locally at:

  • M3 (8-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage) – starts at PHP 84,990
  • M3 (8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 8GB RAM, and 256GB storage) – starts at PHP 96,990
  • M3 (8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 8GB RAM, and 512GB storage) – starts at PHP 108,990

It is now listed on Apple Store Philippines but its availability is yet to be announced, as of writing this. Although, in the US it is said to ship on November 7.
