Sony announces the arrival of the two new additions to the Alpha 7C series – the Sony Alpha 7C II and Alpha 7CR along with the G Master FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM II (model SEL1635GM2).

Both cameras support Sony’s S-Cinetone color science for rich cinematic video. They also have Active Mode in-body image stabilization, AI-based Auto Framing, digital-audio interface support, and other features.

The Sony Alpha 7C II is a second-generation version of the Alpha 7C series, celebrated for its combination of performance and features in a compact size.

It is equipped with a full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor with approximately 33 effective megapixels and the latest BIONZ XR image processing engine. For capturing still images or videos, it offers high-quality image capture in a wide range of scenes like travel and daily snapshots.

The Sony Alpha 7C II, compared to the Alpha 7 IV, is up to 22% lighter and up to 45% less volume. The standard ISO sensitivities range from 100 to 51200 for both photos and videos.

Sony Alpha 7CR

The Sony Alpha 7CR is a new compact full-frame interchangeable lens camera. It offers high-resolution and rich graduation performance of a full-size image sensor with approximately 61 effective megapixels in a compact and lightweight body.

It is equipped with Pixel Shift Multi Shooting, a full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor, and the latest BIONZ XR image processing engine. It is approximately 29% lighter and has approximately 53% less volume than the Alpha 7R V.

The standard ISO sensitivities range from 100 to 32000 for both still images and videos. In addition, it has 7.0-step optical 5-axis in-body stabilization and detects and corrects slight blurring even at the 1-pixel level.

You can combine the 7CR with the included grip extension GP-X2 to be able to shoot comfortably with a stable hold.

Lastly, the FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM II is a high surface precision XA (extreme aspherical) lens that achieves high resolution with a maximum aperture of F2.8 over the entire zoom range. It also has Sony’s original Nano AR Coating II that suppresses ghosting and flares to capture clear images even when a strong light source comes into the frame.

The lens has a total length of 111.5 mm and a weight of around 547 g, which is 20% lighter than its predecessor.

Moreover, it includes the latest XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors that work on high-speed drive and achieve quiet autofocus that is as fast as conventional models.

Operability has also been improved with features like an aperture ring that be clicked on/off with a switch and two focus hold buttons. The front lens is applied with a fluorine coating to allow easy removal of dirt that adheres to the surface.

Pricing and Availability

New Sony Alpha 7C series and GM 2 series price 1

You can get the Sony Alpha 7C II body only for PHP 129,999 and PHP 145,999 with the kit lens. While the Alpha 7CR is available for PHP 179,999 for the body only.

If you decide to pre-order either camera, you get a Peak Design Cuff with NP-FZ100 Battery Pack worth PHP 7,690.

Meanwhile, the FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM II is priced at PHP 139,900. It comes with a Peak Design Slide worth PHP 4,990 if you pre-order the lens.
