realme has recently teased a smartphone with what is assumed to be a periscope smartphone. If this is the case, this is the first smartphone from the company since the realme X3 SuperZoom to be equipped with a periscope telephoto camera.
realme – Periscope Telephoto Smartphone
The teaser photo was shared on the official global X (previously Twitter) account of the company and simply features what appears to be a round camera module with two circles on the top and a rectangle below the left circle. Typically, a rectangle camera module is used for periscope telephoto lenses, and in the teaser photo, the rectangle bit is highlighted in white.
The poster also has the text “Not only Max can zoom” which seems to point at the zoom capabilities of the recently announced iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Pro Max has a 12MP periscope telephoto lens that allows the device to offer up to 5x optical zoom and is the first iPhone to feature this type of camera.
It is speculated that the phone realme is hinting at is the realme GT5 Pro which is said to be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and have a 64MP telephoto camera.
This is definitely exciting news from the company and we expect to learn more in the following weeks.
