HMD Global Co-founder, Chairman, and CEO Jean-Francois Baril has just revealed on LinkedIn that the company has plans to introduce its own self-branded mobile devices.
HMD Global-branded Smartphones
HMD Global is a Finnish company that is also in charge of Nokia smartphones. However, the company co-founder clarified in his post that we can expect to see devices from both HMD and Nokia. He also teased collaborating with “exciting new partners”.
In the post, Baril stated that the company is the “fastest-growing 5G smartphone manufacturer year on year” and a leader in sustainability with its repairable devices.
The company is said to be “ready for the next step on our journey – to enter the market independently as a force to create a new world for telecommunications focused on consumer needs.”
He reveals that the company is committed to delivering “high-quality, affordable mobile devices to consumers around the world.”
It is uncertain if the Finnish company will share the same market as Nokia or if the former will instead provide more flagship-killer-level devices. Either way, we look forward to seeing what kind of smartphones the company will introduce.

He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
