Qualcomm has recently announced three new members of its G-series chipset for portable gaming consoles – the Snapdragon G1 Gen 1, Snapdragon G2 Gen 1, and Snapdragon G3x Gen 2.

Snapdragon G1 Gen 1 and Snapdragon G2 Gen 1

The Snapdragon G1 Gen 1 is designed for fanless handheld gaming devices. It is focused on lag-free connectivity and battery life, offering up to 10 hours of battery life.

The first-generation chipset has an eight-core Kryo CPU build and an Adreno A11 GPU. The chipset supports up to 720p panels at 60 fps and also supports Wi-Fi 5 connectivity and Bluetooth 5.0.

Meanwhile, the Snapdragon G2 Gen 1 is meant to power handheld for mobile and cloud gaming. It features the same octa-core Kryo CPU but is equipped with a more powerful Adreno A21 GPU.

The G2 Gen 1 supports FHD+ displays at up to 144 fps and has a Snapdragon X62 5G modem. The modem allows the chipset to offer Wi-Fi 6/6E and 5G connectivity.

Snapdragon G3x Gen 2

Last but definitely not least, the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2. This is the upgrade of the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 used in the Razer Edge 5G released last year.

The Snapdragon G3x Gen 2, like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, supports ray tracing. Moreover, the G3x Gen 2 supports displays of up to FHD+ at up to 144 fps. It also offers Wi-Fi 7 and 5G connectivity, PCIe Gen4 SSD, and stereo haptics support.

Among the companies that are collaborating with Qualcomm include Ayaneo, Huain, Inventec, and Thundercomm. Ayaneo has already unveiled the Ayaneo Pocket S which will be powered by the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2.

He would then transition to focus more on the world of tech which has also began his journey into learning more about this world. That said though, he still has the mentality of "as long as it works" for his personal gadgets.
