Samsung has just shared an upcoming update that enhances the Galaxy Buds2 Pro‘s ability to boost its ambient audio for people that are hard of hearing.
Galaxy Buds2 Pro Update
According to the South Korean company, the addition of two more levels (now has 5 levels in total) will expand the Ambient Sound feature, “providing the benefit of improved hearing to even more users”.
The University of Iowa’s Hearing Aid and Aging Research Laboratory conducted a clinical trial to validate the effectiveness of the new Ambient Sound feature. The research showed that the Galaxy Buds2 Pro “significantly improved speech perception in those with mild-to-moderate hearing loss”.
Another test by Samsung Medical Center found that the Galaxy Buds2 Pro “could be an effective tool to help those with mild-to-moderate hearing loss to better communicate in a quiet place.”
These trials used the highest level of ambient sound possible (level 5) for the device.
Other features of the update include:
- Different Ambient Sound levels for the left and right earbuds (for fine-tuning based on your own preference/need)
- Customize the tone range from soft to clear across five different stages
- Adapt Ambient Sound (for automatic tuning)
